With five children to Christmas shop for, a Sunday School class to teach, and a cub scout den to lead, she has no time to volunteer at the Seattle Crèche Festival. Reluctantly, she agrees to help her friend arrange the nativity displays for one afternoon. Somehow, she ends up working for weeks under Marilynn, a stern woman who organizes the volunteers like an invading army and relegates Kelly to the Children’s Room where she can’t break anything. Unable to say no, Kelly stays on and on. With each new assignment, she wants to get done and get out of there, but then nativity pieces start to go missing. Before long, Kelly wants, more than anything, to solve the mystery and make sure the festival succeeds, but how will she ever get Christmas ready for her family?
