    CANCELLATION POLICY - No conference registration cancellation refunds after August 31, 2018 (2 weeks before.)

    CHILDREN/MINORS POLICY - Children under the age of 12, including babies, are not permitted in the conference classrooms at any time. Please make other arrangements if you plan to attend. A private nursing/pumping station can be provided at the Conference Center upon request.

    Attendees must be 18 years old to participate alone.

    Youth attendees ages 16-17 are allowed to attend on their own with parental permission form signed and submitted to the current Conference Chair prior to the start of conference.     Youth attendees ages 12-15 must receive approval to attend from the current Conference Chair and ANWA Executive Committee prior to registering. In addition pre-approval, a parent or adult guardian must accompany the minor at all times during the conference.

    2018 Keynote

    Martine Leavitt

    Leavitt has published ten novels for young adults, most recently Calvin, which won the Governor General's Literary Award of Canada. My Book of Life by Angel was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and winner of the Canadian Library Association Young Adult Book of the Year. Other titles by Leavitt include Keturah and Lord Death, a finalist for the National Book Award, Tom Finder, winner of the Mr. Christie Award, and Heck Superhero, a finalist for the Governor General’s Award. Her novels have been published in Japan, Korea, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands. She is a member of the faculty at Vermont College of Fine Arts. Leavitt was born in 1953 in Canada.She received a Bachelor of Arts degree, first class honours, from the University of Calgary and a Master of Fine Arts from Vermont College. She has seven children and lives with her husband in Alberta, Canada.
